Artist Statement

Overview of Images
Many images contain elements of a watery world which come naturally when you live on a boat. Water rushes in and over its former boundaries. The barrier
between air and water disappears as fish breathe on land and ride bikes, smiling turtles fly, gator tails swagger and bridges cavort. Butterflies turn
sinister and flowers becomes entrails of never before seen creatures made from abandoned and sea-wrecked flotsam. On the waterfront aquatic animals evolve
onto the land where they crawl, ride motorcycles and even fly. Humor slips in and out of these images like a snake's shadow. Creatures shape shift in water
and landscapes, suggesting the metamorphoses that are possible. Beauty and the technological beast, boondoggles and cockleburs fight to a frenzied standoff.
And over and over we see the plight of the denizens of this planet as we ignore the warnings of coming catastrophes.

Whose Dumb Ass Idea…
Who is that dumb ass with his random access lizard brain driving this bus, causing it to swerve into a strata of blossoming images?
Looking in the rear view window, I see someone vaguely familiar, wearing a younger man’s clothes. Oh my god, that’s me, still here in the crossroads
of a visual traffic jam. If this visual accident gets cleaned up, there are plenty more waiting to happen.
